The Western Slope 4-Wheelers was founded in February 1998, to promote family 4-wheeling and to protect and enjoy our country's natural beauty. The club is based in Montrose with approximately 50 members. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at the Montrose Rod and Gun club at 7:00 p.m. We are members of the Colorado Association of 4 Wheel Drive Clubs, Inc. and United Four Wheel Drive Associations.

We schedule a variety of social activities and at least one trail ride every month, take regular trips to San Juan Mountains and the deserts of Utah. The WS4W participates in community activities such as the annual Montrose Parade of Lights and the Ouray 4th of July parade.

A major focus of our club is working with the Forest Service and the BLM in our area in maintaining trails both in the San Juan Mountains and the Dry Creek OHV area. We also assist the Yankee Boy Coalition in cleaning and preparing campsites on the Yankee Boy Basin Road and serving as Alpine Hosts during the summer.

Adopted trails include Poughkeepsie Gulch and Black Bear Road from the summit down to Telluride, and future trails are in the works.

So come join the fun. The WS4W is open to all 4x4's from stock to hardcore.
